Downpour doesn’t dampen The Madeleine Jog-a-Thon 2022
What's a little rain? Or A LOT of rain! The Madeleine Jog-a-thon made a splashy return after taking a two year pause. The Jog-a-Thon is the second biggest fundraiser of the year and is gaining speed as an all time favorite. We are so happy to be a sponsor of this active, outdoor event and love seeing all the Popsicle smiles after the run. Thank you to all the teachers, volunteers, parents, and grandparents who make this great event happen.
Practice makes Progress
We are excited to provide support to The Portland Reign Basketball Academy. Boys and girls in the neighborhood in grades 3-11 can spend some time in the gym, sharpen their skills and even play in tournaments. Being part of a team, practicing to improve and having fun are all goals worth shooting for!
Let's go Hoopers!
Smilin’ to the Smooth Sounds
The Jazz Ambassadors at Beaumont Middle School are cool cats. Learning to play an instrument as part of group that can flow to the vibe of the music is so challenging and so much fun! The energy in this group is magic and the students produce a sound beyond their years. Music can bring smiles for a lifetime along with a place for expression and relaxation. We are excited to support the Beaumont Middle School Jazz Ambassadors program with the “Jazz by Joe” scholarship to keep students grovin’ to the beat.
What a HOOT!
The “Fun for the Owls” event at Vernon IB School was a hit!
Clever and creative PE Teachers and PTA organizers rocked this new event!
The Owls flew through the obstacle course raising funds for the PTA.
We are so excited to support efforts like this.
A Splashing Success!
After a two year pause, “The Run for Sabin School “ brightened the day for the Sabin Stars!
The kiddos blazed around the school clocking laps while raising funds for Sabin.
The soggy skies didn’t stop anyone from having fun. The Sabin Stars shined as they blew past the goal of $30,000 and raised $34,637 for their school! Woohoo!
We are happy to support this event, and proud of the Sabin Stars, teachers, staff and volunteers who make this event so much fun.
Can you hold a plank for 20 seconds? Make 2 frisbee golf goals? How about hop on 1 leg? Students at the Madeleine School performed each of these fun tasks to fill in a square on their Jog-a Thon BINGO cards. This clever covid safe event was a change from the annual Jog-a-Thon, but it was So. Much. Fun! Even the weather cooperated with a beautiful sunny day. Students spent the morning completing a bingo card full of fun activities and then celebrated with popsicles! The goal was $30k, and $37k was raised! Woohoo! We are happy to support our local neighborhood schools and their fantastic students.
Thank you to all the teachers, parents and volunteers who helped make the first ever Jog-a-Thon Bingo day at the Madeleine School a smiling success!
The boys and girls of summer are back! We are so happy to support Wilshire Riverside Little League. The “Megalodons” played an awesome game while learning good sportsmanship and how to play on a team. Great life lessons for our neighborhood kids. Here’s a huge THUMBS UP to the coaches, volunteers, and parents who make Wilshire Riverside Little League an incredible community program.
Climbing “Mt. Readmore”
For every minute Sabin students read, they climbed higher on “Mt. Readmore.”
Reading at home, logging minutes as if they were miles each student traveled on a journey up “Mt. Readmore.” GIANT thumbs up to the the Sabin PTA for putting on this creative, fun, educational fundraiser. We are so excited to help sponsor this event. Students received bookmarks and top readers were awarded gift cards to a local bookstore. Way to go Sabin PTA, teachers students and parents for keeping students engaged, connected and learning during these challenging times. Together, we'll reach the top!
Jump, Jump, JUMP!
What a GREAT idea! Students from Vernon Elementary School jumped all week during their online PE class to raise funds for their school. The virtual event "Jump for the Owls" was the clever alternative to the "Run for the Owls" which couldn't happen this year. Hat's off to the creativity at Vernon! The t-shirt design was a contest and 5th Grader TJ won a gift card to a local art store for more supplies. Super cool t-shirt TJ! We're happy to support this great event, one that keeps everyone safe and feeling "together" at the same time.
Go Owls! Jump Jump Jump!
Happy Harvest Parade!
Happy Harvest Parade!
Sabin students rocked their spooky costumes at the Harvest Parade!
Students gathered at a safe social distance on the sidewalk in their costumes while teachers and staff drove around the block and handed out treats and toothbrushes! Who knew individually wrapped toothbrushes could be so much fun?
It was an awesome day and wonderful for the students and teachers to see each other from a safe distance during the spectacular spooky event. A GIANT Thank You to Sabin School PTA for thinking of safe creative ways to stay connected during these challenging times!
